Historic Downtown District

The Downtown Centralia Historic District is at the heart of the community offering a vibrant and artsy energy. It's here where people sip on a cup of Joe in a local coffee shop; where shoppers eagerly browse the endless array of antique and boutique shops. Visitors can relax at Washington Park or simply enjoy the dining and people watching. Historic Downtown shops and galleries feature a unique mix of locally-owned establishments offering specialized items such as, handmade jewelry, beautiful handcrafted furniture, homemade chocolates and one-of-a-kind gifts. A rich tapestry of businesses and shoppes offer the unique opportunity to get to know charming Centralia.

And so it continues, this Downtown District has been the cornerstone of community life since it was platted in 1885. The Centralia Downtown Historic District has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places and has enjoyed all of the rights and privileges that come from that special designation. In addition, the State and/or National Register of Historic Places also recognize many buildings in Historic Downtown Centralia.

We recognize our Downtown provides the first impression of our community. We realize ongoing revitalization and restoration is necessary to maintain the City's welcoming charm and historic beauty.
