Conservation Program
Overview
Some conservation measures must be inspected prior to installation. To verify eligibility, please contact Danielle Hansen at the City Light Conservation Department.
These conservation programs will remain in effect until they are no longer supported by BPA and/or there is no longer funding available for them to continue.
Residential Rebate Programs
Appliance Rebates
Centralia City Light has appliance rebates available to eligible residential customers to help them conserve energy and save money.
Qualifying customers are eligible for rebates depending on appliance type and efficiency.
Ductless Heat Pump Program
There are rebates available for the installation of a ductless heat pump (DHP) to eligible existing electric heat customers. Please contact the Conservation Department prior to any work being completed to verify that you qualify for the DHP rebate.
The homeowner must have the DHP installed by a licensed HVAC contractor. DHPs must be installed on a dedicated electrical circuit, according to the manufacturer's specifications.
DHP must be a split-system heat pump employing an inverter-driven outdoor compressor, with an inverter-driven or variable-speed indoor blower, rated with a minimum of 7.6 HSPF2 by the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).
Only one DHP may be claimed per home, regardless of the number of outdoor or indoor units installed, and regardless of the home's square footage.
The Ductless Heat Pump Installation Form below will need to be completed and returned to the Centralia City Light Conservation Department along with a copy of the purchase receipt.
Current rebate is $800 for eligible installations.
Smart Thermostat Program
Centralia City Light will offer a $140 rebate for the installation of a qualified Smart Thermostat. You must submit the Smart Thermostat Project Information Form along with a copy of your purchase receipt to the City Light Conservation Department. Only available for Smart Thermostats that are on the BPA Residential Advanced Smart Thermostat Qualified Project List. Please contact the Conservation Department to verify eligibility.
Heat Pump Water Heaters
Centralia City Light offers rebates for customers replacing an existing electric storage water heater with a heat pump water heater. The rebates range from $300 to $700 depending on tank size and tier. Please contact the conservation department for more information and to see if you are eligible. A Heat Pump Water Heater Installation Form is required along with a purchase receipt.
Commercial/Industrial Rebate Programs
Centralia City Light offers rebates to our commercial and industrial customers for lighting retrofit projects and select energy-efficient custom measures. Please contact the conservation department for more program details prior to any energy efficiency work being completed to see if you are eligible.
