Municipal Court
The Centralia Municipal Court records and processes citations and infractions filed by the Centralia Police Department and complaints filed by the City Attorney's Office. The staff is also responsible for processing warrants and "No Contact Orders" for defendants who fall under the court's jurisdiction. The Court Clerk is responsible for transmitting all relevant information concerning defendants to the judicial information system through the DISCIS Statewide program. Additionally, the Court Clerk acts as the liaison between the Court and the State Office for the Administration of the Courts and the State Department of Licensing. Further duties include setting and holding all hearings, motions, and trials, notification of defendants of hearing dates, summoning jurors to serve on jury duty, and receipting and handling all funds associated with criminal charges and civil infractions.
Those arrested and booked into jail on days other than when Court is regularly scheduled are given preliminary or bail hearings when necessary at the Lewis County Jail facility by the judge.
Operating hours:
Centralia Municipal Court, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Court is in regular session from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each Tuesday.
Jury Trials are the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.
